New musical director
Dr. Mark Pinner's agreed tenure as musical director has come to an end. Sadly, with the overriding circumstances of the pandemic, we weren't able to do a full year program with Mark. We want to sincerely thank Mark for his work as musical director.
When the program resumes, the position of musical director will be filled by Andrew Chubb.

2019 Members' Information
Being an Orchestra Nova Member:
We are a community orchestra of members who share the challenge, reward and joy of making music together. We are a welcoming, friendly and respectful group. Whether an experienced musician or newcomer, each member strives to play to the best of their ability.
All members:
- are organised and ready to play at the start of each rehearsal (7:30)
- follow the leadership of the conductor without distraction
- pay their membership fees on time
- contribute to the setting up and clearing away at rehearsals and performances
- are ambassadors for the orchestra through promoting the orchestra, our concerts and seeking out new members
Orchestra Nova's reputation and success is the result of our combined efforts and care as members.
Rehearsals commence: 31 January 2019
Member Fees:
- Full year if paid by March 31: $210, Concession $105
- Full year if paid after 31 March: $240, Concession $120
- If paying per concert: $60, Concession $30 to be paid by the 4th week of rehearsal for each concert
Payment of Fees:
- Cash payment can be made to the Treasurer Andrew Hocquard
- Please see Andrew for bank transfer information if needed
Other Information
- Rehearsals run from 7.30 to 9.30.
- Details concerning COVID safe rehearsals will be updated in line with Government and health requirements
- Typically we hold four concerts per year at Lake Macquarie Performing Arts Centre
- The concert dress code is usually all black, but can be varied by the Music Director
- Before each performance we run a one hour sound check/rehearsal and then break for lunch where members bring a plate to share
- Taking sound recordings and photos of the orchestra require approval of the Music Director and/or Committee
